Let's get it on Nux, we'll get Stecher mania under control but now it'll be Larsen mania... |

Thanks Carol.
Larsen should be pumped with the D line-up, he won't have to compete with Subban tonight...
I'm glad we get to see Granlund with some skilled players and Gaunce with actual NHLers. Should be an interesting head to head competition for the two players.
Grenier seems to be a bit of a forgotten player and I expect him to come out and have a big night.
I also think we see Skille come out and try to win a spot. Is this 3 games in a row now for him? I though he lost a bit of gas in the last game, I wonder how his conditioning is.

No, Skille didn't play against the Sharks. Only Ruutu and Sheppard from Team PTO in that game. |

slick Willie seeing if he can find some early chemistry. Only giving limited players a real try out it seems... Larsen, rendulic, gaunce, etc, all looking for that break |

Tonight will be an important game for most of these players. With four games remaining after tonight, WD will start to dress more the team he thinks will play.
I expect a lot of cuts and releases after tonight.
Grenier needs to play the best game of his career |

I think that if Granlund struggles again to generate offense with the better wingers, his job might actually be in trouble.
He played 20+ minutes of ice-time with the only other NHLers in Edmonton and didn't look dangerous at all, where IMO Gaunce looked much better with a couple of AHLers.
To be fair I thought Granlund did look good on the PK as well and he shouldn't be held accountable for his wingers, etem in particular, not playing very well. |

I would like to see Ferland and Lebate go at it. It could be a deciding factor for Lebate. |

Labate isn't much of a fighter. I want to see EG or Tree punch Ferland's lights out |

I dont see many spots open at forward to make this team. Unless rodins spot opens from possibly being outplayed, or burrows spot but I doubt it. Possibly Etem. Certainly nothing at center.
Doubt there will be an surprises at forward that way.
This is more tradebait tryouts and maybe next season auditions |

I hope we see someone on the Canucks target Tkachuk and try to get him off his game. I was really hoping for Dubois and Tkachuk was always the consolation prize for me but now that I've seen a bit of his play, I think he will be really easy to hate as whiny, cheapshot artist, and I'm glad we don't have him. |

Ill agree with that.
Tree has advantage of extreme reach. Saw him fight in russia and he held the guy at arms length and the player couldnt reach him meanwhile tree was pummeling him. |

I think we have already seen and heard that Etem's spot might not be secure and I would think Rodin's and Burrows are definitely not up for grabs.
Rodin needs some rope and mgmt has acknowledged this. He will get 15-20 real games at a minimum before they make a decision IMO.
Burrows for better or worse will be on the team otherwise mgmt would of bought him out, I can't see them possibly considering sending him down.
Virtanen's "spot" is also up for grabs mostly because he has been injured. |

Hard to write off tkachuk when its only pre season of his rookie year (or less if hes sent down). Might be something in a few years though. |

Lebate had the most fights on the team last year and it was against big boys. He is not as soft as people think.
He hits hard and fights . He is 6'5 . He could be a very good 4 th line player |

from last blog.
First of all- Stecher is good, but the kid played 1 (frank)ing preseason game. Let him atleast have 3 consistent games before we crown him the next Niedermayer.
2nd, WD is in the hot seat. He will pick experience over rookie if his job depends on how they start. So unless there are injuries or Stecher absolutely forces their hands, he is not going to start in NHL.
3rd WTF Scoob, you bumped me from the pool? Not cool bro. |
